Change of Major Information
Requirements to Change Major to Architecture (ARCH)
- Must have a 3.00 GPA at the time of application
- Must have at least 12 hours completed at TAMU
- No more than 60 total hours
- Preferred coursework: PHYS 201, MATH 140/152 and MATH 142/151
- A GPA of a 3.5 or higher is considered competitive for the change of major process
- Essay is required on the change of major application
- Note: This degree requires an additional 4 years to complete the degree with the sequence of classes beginning in a Fall semester
Note: Acceptance is limited and meeting the requirements alone will not guarantee acceptance

Requirements to Change Major to Construction Science (COSC)
- Must have a 2.50 GPA at the time of application
- Must have at least 12 hours completed at TAMU
- <60 total hours (TAMU & transfer)
- Must have completion of PHYS 201 and GEOL 101/102 or CHEM 119
- Must have completion of MATH 140 and MATH 142
- Preferred coursework of ENGL 104 and ENGL 210
- 3.25 GPA is competitive for admission
- Essay is required on the change of major application
- Note: This degree requires an additional minimum 5 full semesters to complete the degree with the sequence of classes

TEAM Students
- In order to take PHYS 201 (1401) at Blinn you must have the Prerequisite(s): MATH 1314 and MATH 1316, or MATH 2312, or MATH 2412 or Divisional Dean approval.
- If you do not have this from Dual credits its recommended you take PHYS 201 at A&M.

Requirements to Change Major to Landscape Architecture (LAND)
- Must have a 2.75 GPA at the time of application
- Must have at least 12 hours completed at TAMU
- No more than 60 total hours
- Preferred Coursework completion: MATH 140 & MATH 142
- 3.0 GPA is competitive for admission
- Note: This degree requires an additional 4 years to complete the degree with the sequence of classes beginning in a Fall semester
- Essay is required on the change of major application
Change of Major Request Dates: Will Take FALL Applications ONLY
Requirements to Change Major to Urban & Regional Planning (URPN)
- Must have a 2.75 GPA at the time of application
- Must have at least 12 hours completed at Texas A & M
- No more than 60 total hours
- Preferred Coursework: MATH 140 & MATH 142
- 3.0 GPA is competitive for admission
- Essay is required on the change of major application
- Note: This degree requires an additional 3 years to complete the degree with the sequence of classes beginning in a Fall semester
Requirements to Change Major to University Studies: Global Arts, Planning, Design and Construction Concentration

- University Studies – Global Arts, Planning, Design & Construction students must take part in a faculty-led, five-week summer study abroad program. Students can participate in a 15-week study abroad program for more in-depth study instead of a summer study abroad program.
