Requirements to Change Major to Agricultural Business (AGBU)
- Must have a 3.25 GPA at the time of application.
- Minimum of 12 graded hours at A&M
- Must have completed MATH 140 and MATH 142 (or equivalents); with a C or Higher
- Must complete at least 6 hours from the following list of courses:
- AGBU – AGEC 105, ACCT 229, ACCT 230, ECON 202, ECON 203 (C or Higher)
- Additional Requirements
- Minimum GPA of 3.25 overall and in required coursework listed above. Admission is competitive and a 3.25 is a minimum. Meeting the requirements alone will not guarentee acceptance.
- Minimum GPA of a 2.0 in any AGBU major or CBK coursework completed at TAMU.
- Essay must demonstrate why student would like an AGBU degree.

Requirements to Change Major to Agricultural Economics (AGEC)
- Must have a 2.75 GPA at the time of application.
- At least 12 graded hours at A&M
- Must have completed MATH 140 and MATH 142 (or equivalents); with a C or Higher

Requirements to Change Major to Financial Planning
**AS OF 4/2/2024**
- Must have a 3.25 GPA at the time of application.
- At least 12 graded hours at A&M
- Must have completed MATH 140 and MATH 142 (or equivalents); with a C or Higher
- Must complete at least 6 hours from the following list of courses:
- AGEC – AGEC 105, ACCT 209 or 229, ACCT 210 or 230, ECON 202, ECON 203 (C or Higher)

Requirements to Change Major to Agricultural Communication and Journalism (AGCJ)
- Must have a 2.50 GPA at the time of application.
- Must have completed less than 90 hours.
- Less than 45 hours: Must complete at least 21 hours of core curriculum including 1 core MATH, AGCJ 105 and a 3-hour Agriculture & Life Sciences course.
- 45 – 74 hours: Must complete all core curriculum.
- Must include in the change of major essay an interest and experience in Communication and Journalism.
Agricultural Communication and Journalism Program Information

Requirements to Change Major to Agricultural Leadership (ALED)
- Must have a 2.00 GPA at the time of application.
- Must have a minimum of 24 hours completed but less than 90 total hours.
- Less than 45 hours: must complete at least 21 hours of core curriculum including 1 core MATH, ALED 202 and a 3-hour Agriculture & Life Sciences course.
- 45 hours or more: Must complete ALL core curriculum at time of application.
- Complete the application and answer essay.
- Must complete or currently enrolled in ALED 202.
- Must include in the change of major essay an interest and experience in leadership, agriculture and one (possible) university approved minor.

Requirements to Change Major to Agricultural Science (AGSC)
- Must have a 2.75 GPA at time of application.
- Must have less than 90 hours completed.
- Must maintain a 2.75 to remain in major.
- Less than 45 hours: must complete majority of core curriculum including 1 core MATH at time of application.
- 45 hours or more: Must complete ALL core curriculum at time of application.

Requirements to Change Major to Agriculture Systems Management (AGSM)
- Must have a 2.00 GPA at the time of application.
- Must have completed: MATH 140, CHEM 119 & either ACCT 209 OR ECON 202.
- Preferred Completion: ACCT 209 or ECON 202, MATH 142, PHYS 201(or equivalents) with B’s or better
- Additional Requirements
- Students who have completed most of the required and preferred coursework have a better chance of admission consideration. It is preferred to have B’s or better in the listed coursework, although a C is accepted for course completion.
- Additional classes successfully completed for AGSM, such as AGSM 201 and 301 or other business-related classes (ECON 203, ACCT 210, etc) can boost your application for review.

Requirements to Change Major to Animal Science - Production Industry Option (ANSC-PIN)
- Must have a 2.75 GPA at the time of application.
- Have completed ANSC 107/108 & CHEM 119 with a B or better.
- BIOL 111, MATH 140, MATH 142 are highly preferred.
- No more than 75 completed hours
- Additional Requirements:
- Application is to a specific degree option. Changes of degree track is not permitted after student is admitted to ANSC.

- Have completed ANSC 107/108 & CHEM 119 with a B or better.

Requirements to Change Major to Bioenvironmental Sciences (BESC)
- Must have a 2.00 GPA at the time of application.
- Must have completed BIOL 111 or CHEM 119
- Prefer BIOL 112, CHEM 120 and BESC 201
- Must include an interest in Bioenvironmental Sciences in the change of major essay.

Requirements to Change Major to Biological and Agricultural Engineering (BAEN)
- Must have a 2.00 GPA at the time of application.
- Must have completed MATH 151, MATH 152, CHEM 107/117 or BIOL 111, & PHYS 206 with B or better.
- Prefer PHYS 207 with a B or better.
- Applications for change of curriculum are considered when the required coursework is complete. Students seeking a change of curriculum from another engineering major should also have PHYS 226 and PHYS 227 completed with B’s or better. Additional coursework towards engineering may enhance a prospective student’s application if they have lower than B averages in all courses.

Requirements to Change Major to Biochemistry and Genetics (BICH and GENE)
- Must have a 2.50 GPA at the time of application.
- Minimum of 12 graded hours at TAMU
- Must have BIOL 111 with a C or better.
- Must have CHEM 119 and MATH 151 or 171 with a B or better.
- Preferred Coursework:BIOL 112 (C or better), CHEM 120 (B or better) & MATH 152 or 172 (B or better)

Requirements to Change Major to Ecology and Conservation Biology (ECCB)
- Must have a 2.50 GPA at the time of application.
- Must have completed at least one full semester (12 graded credit hours) at TAMU.
- Students with more than 70 credit hours should have completed course work that closely adheres to the program curriculum
- Students must submit a one-page typed essay with Change of Curriculum Application, explaining why want to major in ECCB and how they plan to use degree in regard to their career.
- Ecoinformatics Track: Must have completed:
- BIOL 111 (C or better)
- BIOL 112 (C or better)
- Two courses completed from: MATH 140, MATH 142 and/or CHEM 119
- Student must complete at least one MATH course to be eligible to change majors.

Requirements to Change Major to Entomology (ENTO)
- Must have a 2.00 GPA at the time of application.
- Must have completed at least one semester (12 graded credit hours) at TAMU
- Must have completed ENTO 201 or 208/209 or 210, atleast one core math (math 140 recommended), BIOL 111 or BIOL 112
- Students with more than 90 credit hours should have completed course work that closely adheres to the ENTO curriculum (CHEM 119, CHEM 120, BIOL 111, 112, MATH 140, 142 and university core curriculum requirements)
