This is not the Appeal form. Current GEST students asking for an extention can gain access to the Appeal form after meeting with a TAP advisor.

Select this form if you can answer YES to the following:

• Is this spring semester at least your 2^nd semester at TAMU?

  • If this is your first semester at Texas A&M please see the Fish Form (below).

• Are you a student who has changed your mind about your major or career goals since you began at TAMU?

• Are you a student who must change your major?

If your application is approved, your major will be changed to General Studies and you must attend a mandatory TAP Transition meeting.

*Corps of Cadets students who are on contract should consult with Corps Scholastic Performance Specialists before completing this form to verify eligibility to switch to GEST.

Fish Form ** (Before you click the link read below)
Students are encouraged to visit with TAP Advisors prior to completing the form.
This form is only available for current TAMU students whose first term is Spring 2023. Your major will be changed for your second term (Summer/Fall 2023). This form will open March 7, 2023. To request to complete this form before that date you must visit with a TAP Advisor.

Select the Fish Form only if you can answer YES to the following:

• Is Spring 2023 your very first semester at Texas A&M College Station, Galveston or McAllen?
• Are you a Spring 2023 first semester student who has changed your mind about your major or career goals since your admission?

Galveston first semester students please note: The GEST major is only for students intending to get to a College Station campus major. You should expect to move take classes on the College Station campus.

Gateway 2023 students do not use this form.

Fish Forms are reviewed and processed within 1-5 business days of submission. Do not complete this form unless you are sure you do not want your current major. Upon departmental review of this form, your major will be changed to General Studies (GEST) College Station for the summer/fall 2023. Please consider this before completing the form since a major change cannot be reversed by our department.

You will be notified  via email when this change has been made and informed how to attend a mandatory Fish TAP Transition meeting.

Call or email to cancel your application if you decide not to come to the GEST major or if you get into another major and no longer want us to consider your application.

**First semester students may apply to change to GEST after the 10th class day of their first term at A&M. If your Application is approved, curriculum changes to GEST will be for the subsequent semester. In the interim, you can be advised by TAP advisors to plan for the upcoming semester.
